Prashant- zauberhaft I donot think any filter is used as tower lights doesn't show any star effect. It could be well managed exposure.Do share details

Thanks to all of you!! Abhijit, I personally avoid any filtering as long as possible. My favorite and only filters are polarizer, orange filter (for BW film since I mostly shoot in the area with lot of green and blue sky) and sometimes GNDs. Yes, Hasselblad is a fantastic camera indeed. However now that the resolution of digital cameras is almost at par with medium format film it is not that practical. Though WLF viewing and 6x6 film on a light table has that romantic charm and I grab it whenever possible. Here you can see a similar image made next day with EOS 5D and cropped to square. nakul: Details - Fuji film 6x6 back, F14 or 16 and shutter speed around 0.5 Seconds. Flag- Do not take this as a stanard. always use a handheld meter or learn how to use the camera metering system. I metered the brightest part of the sky and opened up by 1.5 stops. Ajai, Long time no see!!

Prashant, mahiti dilyabaddal dhanyavad! Yes, I have heard abt 39 MP Hasselblad :-) That must be awesome! I referred to both of yr images. Composition -wise I liked the 5D image more, as there is no bright trail at the bottom. But the thickness you have got in film shot is excellent. My personal opinion is digipix are too crisp and lack the soft romanticism which is there in films. BTW, I suppose your 80mm is a normal lens for Hasselblad medium format. Isn't it?
|
Yes, I have heard abt 39 MP Hasselblad :-) ..... Well, I have a very old 500C film model which works just fine. The medium/large format digital technology is yet to mature. It does not matter to me what medium, end result is important. A fine image remains one despite of the medium/camera being used. I know one fellow photographer who loves Holga ($30 camera) and make fantastic images and sells them. Having said that it is a great joy to see those wonderful 6x6cm, 6x17cm or 9x12cm trannies on the light table. I particularly love the panorama slides I sometimes make with a 6x17 back. Yes, 80mm is a normal lense for 6x6 format and my favorite for almost all the formats. For my large format camera (9x12cm) I own 150mm which again is a normal lense (like 50mm for SLR, PS camera etc) for that format.

Thanks, Prashant!! I have never used medium/large format so far. Here we are talking abt 39 MP, but some people are talking abt 160 MP there;-) see this http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/20/seitz-6x17-digital-shoots-at-160-megapixels/ :-)
