NYC मधे राहु नका हा सल्ला मी अनेकांकडुन ऐकला आहे. कोणी मला नक्की कारण सांगु शकेल का? म्हणजे वाजवी दरात हॉटेल मिळत असेल तरी राहु नये असे काही विशेष कारण आहे का?
(विचारण्याचे कारण असे की आम्ही LGA ला उतरणार आहोत. आणि पाहण्याच्या महत्वाच्या गोष्टी तर manhattan मधेच आहेत. मग उगाच विरुद्ध दिशेला राहण्यापुअरते जाण्याएवढे काही कारण आहे का हे जाणुन घ्यायचे होते.)

माझा एक मित्र त्याच्या आई-वडिलांसोबत असल्याच कुठल्यातरी चिंकी व्यवस्थापन असलेल्या टुर मधुन जाउन आला. ते थोडेफार ईग्रजी भाषेत माहिती सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात पण त्याने पुस्तके नेली होती त्यामुळे त्याला त्यांच्या टुर गाईड ची गरज भासली नाही.
त्या टुर कंपनीबद्दल माहीती विचारुन एक-दोन दिवसात सांगीन.

आम्ही philly पासुन NY ला बस ने गेलेलो. अगदी बर पडत. २०$ वन वे टिकिट आहे. पण येतानाची वेळ चुकवता येत नाहि.
एकच दिवस ट्रिप जमणार असेल तर सरळ NY ला एखादी sightseeing tour करावी नाहितर सर्व जागा कव्हर होत नाहित.
आम्ही आपले आपलेच subway ने फिरलेलो. नंतर अजुन २ ट्रिप केल्यावर पुर्ण NY पाहुन झाल

अदीती, बस फत्क न्यु यॉर्क मधे यायला घे, न्यु यॉर्क दर्शनासाठी नको. बस मधुन तुझे सगळे शहर एका दिवसात फिरुन होईल, पण त्यात मजा नाही.
अमृता म्हणते ती बस चायनाटाउनची असेल, ती बस तुला canal st वर कुठेतरी सोडेल, तेथुन बाहेर पडल्या पडल्या तुला चायनाटाऊन मधे फिरता येईल, जास्त काही बघण्यासारखे नाहीय, पण बरेच सारे रोडसाईड स्टॉल्स आहेत, जिथे बार्गेनींग करुन गोष्टी घेता येतात, त्या बायका चायनीज दिसत असल्या तरी त्यांना थोडेफार हिंदी येत असते. If you were guy, i could have suggested to say "wo ai ni" that'll give good bargain
तु जरा आतल्या बाजुच्या दुकानात गेलीस तर बरेच सारे चायनीज हॅन्डमेड गुड्स चे शॉप्स दिसतील. dont even think of using restrooms in any of those chinese restaurants
Canal st च्या एका बाजुला चायना टाऊन आहे तर दुसर्‍या बाजुस Little Italy, again its a small area with many restaurants and small shops. you can check in these restaurants if you have to use restrooms.
ok, after this, walk towards broadway and then continue towards uptown. उपटाऊन, डाऊनटाऊन कसे ओळखनार, दर दोन मिनटांने एक रस्ता येतो, त्याचा नंबर बघायचा, जर नंबर वाढत चालले असतील तर तु अपटाऊन च्या दिशेन चालली आहेस, नाहीतर डाउनटाउनच्या. पण तु आता जिथे आहेस (canal & broadway) तेथे रस्त्यांना नंबर नाहीत, त्यामुळे कोणालातरी विचार.
So where was I, yes walk towards broadway and then continue walking towards uptown. You'll come across many shops in this walk. After few minutes you'll reach to Prince St, make a right on prince st. It has many nice shops including Apple Store. This area is called as "Soho"
"Soho" फिरुन झाल्यावर तेथे Subway station शोध, it should be on broadway, and catch a train towards downtown.
You should purchase one day 7 $ pass, that will give you unlimited subway rides for that day. You'll also find subway maps inside the station, if they are not visible, ask the counter guy to provide you one, its very handy.
figure out which train goes to downtown from prince st. answer: blue line, A,C,E
catch E downtown train, and get down at last stop, world trade center. once you'll come out of train station you are ground zero, apparently its not zero anymore and they are constructing something.
so take some photographs, walk across the road, there is this big shop called "Century 21", spend few minutes there, get some hot air. after you'll come out walk another block and you'll find a very tall black color building. you can take better pictures of WTC from stairs of this building.
after you'll cross this building, there is a small park on your right hand, and you'll also find a big red cube across the road, you can take more pictures there.
the road between red cube and park is broadway. now you have to walk towards the tip of island. you'll find Trinity Church on one side of road and Wall St. on other hand.
Walk on Wall St., NYSE is right there.
come back on broadway, continue walking downtown, in few minutes that bull will come across. after you cross the bull, be on left side of road.
In 1 minute you'll come to this great place called Chipotle, it has the best food. Get a burrito ball. Again good place and time to use restrooms. My office used to right behind this great food place on broad st, and almost every alternate day i used to eat here which I miss very much now.
(broad is slang in US english for woman)
So it should be 12 or 1 PM by now, after food, pickup your camera and start walking future down. First battery park will come, there is this small castle like thing in park where they sell tickets for Statue of Liberty ferry, don't buy it. Trust me, that statue is not at all big as we see in movies, its very small. and you'll spend a lot of time to reach to the statue.
instead, ask someone where can I find Staten island ferry. This ferry is really good way to see statue free of cost. just make sure once you enter the ferry walk as fast as you can to reach to the other end of the boat so you'll be in the balcony. and stay on right hand side in the balcony.
on the way to Staten island, you'll see the statue. after the boat reaches staten island, get down walk with everyone and again get back into the line for NYC ferry, its the same boat, but they have to remove everyone from boat.
There is NO TICKET required to ride this boat.
after coming back to city, you'll be all tired and cold.
find starbucks or au bu pain, get coffee, get refreshed. and find out where is "whitehall st" subway station, ride into R or W uptown train and get down at 34 St. there are many shops here to see, plus a huge Macy's store
by this time it should already around 4 pm.
so rush to times sq from here by walking.
ok i am filling sleepy now, so will get this quick
after times sq, catch a shuttle train to grand central, click some snaps there, catch a green downtown train (4,5,6) get down at Canal St. catch chinatown bus back to Philly.

अदिती, माणुस सांगतोय तशि मी चायनाटाउनच्या बसनेच गेले होते. पण तुला जर चायनाटाउन मधे जाण्यात रस नसेल तर मग तु पिटर पन किंवा ग्रे हाउंडच्या बसने जा. त्या बस तुला पोर्ट अथोरीटी बस स्टेशन वर घेउन जातिल.
फिलीला कुठे बस पकडलेली नीट आठवत नाहिये ग  बरीच वर्ष झाली त्याला. नवर्याला विचारुन बघेन आज आठवतय का. पण डाउनटाउन मधेच आहे. नेट वर सर्च मार.
बाकी माणसाने मस्तच माहिती दिली आहे. पोर्ट अथोरीटी वर गेलीस तर तिथेच subway station आहे. तिथे तुला मस्त subway,bus, downtown चा मप पण मिळेल.
