Almost everybody including me do not need personal BB but are willing to subscribe by paying $20.00
Basically I feel the concept of BB is all about interaction with one another between the groups.But when only one person is allowed to post the message than it becomes his own personal webpage rather than a BB.

Admin - I have a suggestion.
Taking forward Amit's idea, you could assign ownership to the sponsor of the BB(personal BB). The owner should have facility to give permission to selected users to post a message on his BB. Also, the owner should have the rights to delete any message posted on his BB. In short, he will be the moderator of his BB. It will be upto him how to manage his space and whom to allow to post on his BB. Users who wish to post on a particular BB will have to send a request to the owner of the BB to add him/her in the allowed users list. The owner should also be allowed to make the BB public - that is anyone can post on his BB. This is similar to the policy on photos.yahoo.com. You can either keep in private OR shared to some OR public.
Thus if someone wants to keep his BB public then he can very well do so. And if someone posts junk messages on his BB, he can delete them.
Taking this idea still forward, you could also have an "Ignore" list. But this is not really required and not really effective too since users can create new login id and again come to HG to create trouble. Some members already suspect there is one such example humming around on HG
However, personally, I would like to make a member pay for his login id - whether he posts messages or not. This will also stop users from having multiple login ids.
And I am ready for whatever solution is accepted by all.

How about multiple levels of subscription?
1. Free Access for Read Only members
2. Paid access for posting on BBs
3. Subscription for own webpage
Personally, I will be interested in level 2.

I have counted only those who explicitly said I will pay/subscribe/donate/want free access. SO If you have not said explicitly your choice, please do.
As I had said personal BBs are in adition to exiting BB. Basically there has to be some additional features who want to pay/donate otherwise I am afraid less people will pay next time.
So for simplicity just say there is some personal BB available to you if you pay. If you don't care about that or give it to somebody that is fine too. It looks from most of the messages, people want to support maayboli anyway and exact features of personal page is not going to change that decision, as long as rest of the structure of Hitguj mostly remains same. Am I correct?
I will have some examples of use of the BB in next 2-4 weeks to get the idea clear.
A few months back we had "mazi kavita" BB and there was demand for it from maaybolikar to have their own special page dedicated to their own literature. We had to turn down many such request because of disk space. Having "mazi kavita" did not change the rest of Hitguj. The idea of personal BB was born from that experience. So instead of just "mazi kavita" it can be "maze paan" so you can add kavita, katha, photo, pictures, articles etc. Or for example there is page dedicated to "Saptahik Kujbuj" or "Dainik Tanta" where past issues are archived there. Or start your own monthly column where you write questions answers for a topic. Or write about marathi books you have read recently. Or write about what is happening in your city/maha mandal etc. So it should not change the nature of Hitguj, but will keep space for some of the articles which gets deleted currently and give more control to author members.

I think that the present structure of hitguj should not be changed. personal pages may be added, but no existing facilities should be removed ( i.e. archiving)
Can we have just two simple levels ?
1> read only subscription : Free / free for a limited period.
2> read -write subscription : 1000 or whatever is found reasonable.
Hitguj is so addictive and creates such a bonding that once people get hooked to it even by option 1, they would eventually shift to option 2.
...................
On a second thought..I think that we should have a third level also, where another $20 should be charged for posting more than 5 questions per day.....:-)

I've some suggestions regarding problem of space crunch.
Can we put these archive pages on some Common location which gives free space like "geocities" etc. .... can it be possible ??... so instead of giving link of archives which reside on maayboli site, we can give the link of geocities and that page....... for this U need to upload all these archives to that location as and when it starts increasing... it would may be a automated process..... Becoz of this we can save space on our server... and there wont be any change in the current look and fill of the Hitguj site......
What say?... This just a wild suggestion ... I dont know its feasible or not... but the idea is to get some free space for hitguj archives .....

mazya swat:chya anubhavavarun (kiranfont.com)sangto ki donations/subscription fee unless made compulsory IS NOT PAID because of various reasons. Payment mode, time, other priorities, etc. I receive many mails for willingness to pay but most of them back out once they get what they want without paying. Till today only THREE people (1 from India + 2 from US) have come forward to actually pay over the period of one year. I really appreciate them whole heartedly.
Second thing I observe is definately price for people in India has to be cheaper than those who are abroad. Quick maths could be
multiply the $ amount by 10 and keep that figure in Rs. For e.g. $20 for outside India and Rs.200 for people in India.
If this is not done then simply very soon this site will be For people outside India only. Reason behind this are multiple: people in India do not earn as much as those who are abroad. Mostly people in India are Paying for Internet connection, so they prefer the sites which gives them FREE access.
Thirdly, I don't know how to put it, I myself feel this is too restrictive, but, the fee should be somehow linked to number of posts per suscriber. Because this is the factor which burdens server and eats up bandwidth and server space. This way we can limit unnecessary posts. I don't know how best this can be implemented.
