kala maaJa windows crash Jaala. maI %yaa maaNasaalaa ÔÜna kolaa tÜ mhNaalaa kI prt restore krava laagaola pNa backup Gao. kdaicat sagaL\yaa files delete hÜtIla. I tried to save all the things but there were too many files  Aata samajaa maI d: tyaar kola. AaiNa windows restore kola. trI d: varcyaa files jaatIlaÆ anybody has any idea?

you need to use another hard drive/CD drive/Floppy drive if you need to take backup.
Do NOT use disk partition commands unless u take backup. disk partition command will destroy all data on your disk. If data is very much important, contact your helpdesk to help you in taking backup. Don't play with options you do not know what exactly they do.

then you can just install another copy of windows operating system by your own. later, you can delete old 'windows' or 'winnt' directory.
This will keep your data intact, no need of backup, plus you will get another copy of windows OS. Only necessary thing is that, you must have enough space on your disk and you need to install all your applications again. This is rowdy way of getting system back in work. but it helps if you have all your softwares/application licensed, also you must be sure that you can install them without trouble.
While installing new copy of windows, select another directory name, i.e. if default directory name is windows , say 'windows-new'. that's all ! you will get a new copy of windows and your data, without much trouble.

oh ok. Thats a good idea. I will try this today. do you know how much total space I need on the disk to install entire windows again so that I can keep my original stuff?

not sure.. anything between 200 to 500 MB.
best way is to check the size of old windows directory.

Windows crash zala mhanje nemka kay zala ? kay error message yetoy ? boot ch hot nahiye ka PC ?
anek goshti karun baghanya sarkhya aahet.
1) safe mode madhe boot karun paha
2) Command prompt madhe boot karun paha
3) Bootable CD ne boot kar.
4) Windows (Repair) option pan karu shaktes if u've a bootable CD of Windows ME
5) Ashish ne sangitalya pramane HD PArtition commands vaparu nakos, pan windows re-install kelyavar (without a aformat first) mostly files parat milu shaktil.
6) If you are unable to do any of these, Try some 'undelete' utilities from www.snapfiles.com

I thought we pay Bill Gates to make life easier but its hell even I had similar troubles, my problem was, my machine used to reboot for no reason. So I thought of doing clean install. What I did, I tried to boot from CD which didn't work so booted from floppy and formatted hard disk now when I used recovery CD, it says EULA.txt not found so can't continue, hitting any button restarts machine. This is with ME, if I used XP home/professional, it says setup can't be run in DOS mode.
So what I wanted to ask was, is there any DOS version conflict? My machine is Fujitsu-Siemens, exactly 3 years old. During my previous format, ME recovery CD worked but XP cd gave same error!!!

Partition magic he software existing partition che don partitions karu shakto. Pun tari mi suggest kareen ki ati sensative data CD war copy/burn karun mug he kar.
Mi swataha partition magic waaparle aahe aani partitions tayar keli hoti. Pun tari backup ghetlela bara.

aata jar windows XP install karayche asel tar DOS chi kahich garaj naste. W2K onwards, DOS shell ha fakt backup compatibility sathi thevala aahe. aani shell.dll madhun mostly sagalya goshti hotaat.
tuzi XP chi cd corrupted asel.
Machine restart zalyavar lagech XP chya CD ne try kar, auto-install should start.

Hi, I need some info very badly. My parents are here in the US with me for past 5 months. Their I-94 expires on Jan 08 2005. I recently applied for their extension (and sent the original I-94 to INS), however due to some unavoidable circumstances, my father needs to go back next week.
We have the copy of his I-94. WIll there be any problem for him while leaving the US ? Or on his next trip to US ?
If anyone has been in a similar situation or knows what needs be done, please let me know. Thanks.

Jojo, here is my own experience. Somewhat similar.
My work permit was to expire in Feb'03. Extension was applied. However, even before the extension was approved, I had to return back to India. I consulted our legal department. I was told that, the LIN number (extension application number) is all that necessary to carry.
At the airport, even that was not checked. My old (expired) I-94 was simply taken and I was allowed to go.
Therefore, malaa naahI vaaTt kahI problem yao[la. trIpNa extension apply kolyaacaa kahItrI proof Gao]na jaaNao yaÜgya.

At the airport the only people check this is the Airline Employee and they do not understand or bother about the details. If you carry some proof of extension applied, they will let him go. US doesnt care as long as you leave the country.
