"I got so much from Hitguj, how can I help".
Many people ask me this. Now Hitguj needs your help.
As Hitguj is growing we would like to involve more members of Hitguj to work behind the scene and help us to run it so that it keeps on going forever. I can think of different groups who can work together to achieve this.
All the positions are
-volunteer position
-rotated
-expect commitment of atleast 6 months.
For all positions you have to be a member for
atleast 6 months.
1. Swaagat Samiti/Madat Samiti
Job: Welcome new members/Help others
Duration commitment : At least 6 months
Efforts: About 15 minute a day or 1-2 hours
per week
2. Event committee
Job: Co-ordinate/Manage an event like
Hitguj Ganeshotsav, Diwali Anka
Efforts: Various from 1 hour a week to 10
hours per week.
3. Beta User
Job: Test new features of hitguj. Give feedback
Efforts: 1-5 hours per week when new features are being tested.
4. Development
Job: Code new features, Enhance existing features
Efforts: Flexible, your own pace. Typicaly 1-2 hour per week
required skills: perl, java, javascript, html
5. Designing
Job: Design Graphics, colors, styles
Efforts: Flexible. your own pace. Typicaly 1-2 hour per week
required skills: graphics design, illustrations, html
6. Devnagri
Job: Help resolve font issues. Understand
how new technology can be used to improve devnagri on maayboli.
Efforts: Flexible. your own pace.
Understand font issues. Devnagri on computers, Unicode. browser problems.
7. News Gathering:
Job: Post links important news/article you saw on newspaper sites. Many people already do this. We just want to add some process to it.
Efforts: If enough people about 15 minutes
per week per person.
8. Community relation:
Job: Spread the word among local Maha. mandal about Hitguj. Publish their news here.
Efforts: Flexible. Your own pace.
We will also adding more moderators. These positions will be "by invitation only" and depends on how you have helped so far on other groups.
This not only give opportunity to give back to hitguj but learn new skills as well. Maayboli is still running because of several people have helped and continue to help. This is opportunity to be part of maayboli that we all love.
Please give your 3 preferences. It won't help if everybody wants to help in same area. Remember we can rotate every 6 or 12 months.
