How to install the fonts on UNIX system ?
I have got the Shivaji fonts for UNIX system. But I hven't yet been able to install and see those fonts on UNIX system. Can anybody help me.

Anyone working on Linux?
Does anyone have access to RedHat 7.1? I need following file from it
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/ide.txt
If anyone has it, pls email it to shailesh@ureach.com.
My PC has a UltraDMA/66 IDE controller card (by Promise Tech). Does anyone know if RedHat 7.1 supports it? From the Hardware Compatibility List it is unclear.

shailesh, the hardware compatibility search provided by redhat says it is not supported. you can access the hardware compatibility at http://hardware.redhat.com/redhatready/cgi-bin/us/db-hcl.cgi.

If you are using Netscape 4+ you should be seeing marathi output. For Netscape 6, you may have to download a plug-in from trudedoc.com. You don't need to install fonts

I'm facing a problem :
I'm getting proper fds using unix's "pipe()" command. but facing problem in unix's "fcntl ()" function.
Here is the code :

int dupedpipefds[2];

I'm getting "-1" value in dupedpipefds[0]

we have allowed these questions in the past as a goodwill gesture. But really Hitguj is not the place for it. You should ask on relevant technical websites where you may get quicker and more detailed answer.
This BB is for technical questions related using devnagri on computers and not about any technologu in general.

Thanks to Kiran's this posting.
I've got the following information to install TTF fonts on unix system. Here r the steps :
1. You need to download the Shivaji05.ttf font file.
2. Convert TTF file to BDF file using any ttf2pdf utility. (one is available here - http://crl.nmsu.edu/~mleisher/download.html)
3. Once you have BDF version, convert it to "PCF" file, using unix utility "bdftopcf".
4. Then do a 'mkfontdir' in the directory, where you have the pcf fonts
5. Now add the font path with command "xset +fp 'font_dir_name'".
6. And in Netscape Communicator set "font encoding" to "User-Defined"
Somehow i couldn't add my font directory, using "xset" 
But still the above steps may prove usefull, if anyone of u want to see devnagari in Netscape 4.x

I have not tried myself but there is supposed to be a way where ttf fonts can directly (same binary as in windows without any conversion) can be used on linux.

I have a problem while opening hotmail through Internet Explorer. It gives following message after typing username & Password.

The problem is that you are using an older version of Internet explorer. It doesn't have sufficient security strength installed.
To solve your problem, click Help /About from the browser and read the line Cipher Strength: It should be 128-bit. If it is not click on the link next to it and download a pathch for it from microsoft web-site.

I am writing one java appliation where I need to run batch file during run time. For this I'm using class Runtime and calling its method exec(string command). I have say 10 files on one PC and I wanted to copy it on local PC. But out of 10 at the most one or two files gets copied and my application keep on waiting. When I run the same batch file on DOS prompt, copying stuff finish within a second. All my files are very small size eg. 82 Bytes or 100 Bytes. So there is really not much load of copying. I even tried copying files from one dir to other dir on same PC but still it is deadly slow..and do not know anything is happening for not. I am also calling method process.waitFor() so that copying part will finish before application ends.
