Perhaps a bit late but here is my take at explaining
DOF. Hope it is of any help to you. I have intentionally avoided too much of techno.-jargoan. Please note this is just for camera system without movement. For LF-systems please mail me personally. And thanks to those maaybolikars who purchased or showed interest in calendar sale.

Unusual scene in the sky,
Yesterday morning, we could see 3 sun images along with sun because of refraction. It was hard to get all together in one picture because of fog and little snowfall, one is very shaprly seen here.

It's amazing, could see arc . very first time when I saw, I thought its taken from car or through glass.

Mawla,
I'm flattered but a master am not yet!
Some of your posts were nice.
Prasad,
I know very little about refraction phenomena. Mostly it does the 'flattening' of the sun. In colder countries the temperature inversion may also cause 'two suns' phenomena, one smaller-rounder and the other more 'square'. Never heard of three suns! Please thro' more light. You may send this image to Nasa-images website or permit me to upload it to the German Aerospace Centers database where I work.

Honestly this is not what I clicked or saw, this is clicked by my wife and she has clicked many trying to cover all 3 together or each one seperately. I am planning to put all of them together to make panorama but not too sure how it will turn out to be.
The pictures are not very clear either because of heavy fog and/or fine snowfall.

3 suns phenomenon - I will upload all images on webshots tonight and put a link here. It should be self-explanatory.

Prashant, take a look at the images first and then use it if you want to (after letting me know which ones you want, I can send original image, if needed)

Mawla, thanks for pointing about the arc and the glass issue. I didn't think of it. I will check with my wife if she took all pictures from outside the window. (I know that she took few but not too sure if all)
