Aree that tiny portion is actuall the horizon of the mountain behind the palace, the bright triangular part is the sky, while the rest whole backgroung is a green forest mountain covered by dusk fog. I had to compress the image file to upload the photos here. In actual resolution these photos look great. Tu pan varchya link var jaun ye..those photos too are in compressed format still look better than posted above. If you like I can mail you the actual size digital copy, dont hesitate

I was there just for a week for site-seeing, but wished could be there forever , to be honest beauty of kashmir valley cannot be expressed in words, pictures or video, one should simply go and experience the air

Ravi, thx for ur prompt reply. Tell me one more thing, is it safe there now? I heard from many that, Kashmir is beautiful but now its no more safe place for tourist. How did u manage then?

We went there in first week of june. There were plenty of tourists to my surprise. You can see plenty of security all over, temples and tourist places are well guarded and checking is done at many places. The checking causes very little inconvinience. It was very quit when we went and i really did not feel any reason to fear. But you may see some evidence here and there that this place has gone through a bad history. Exactly a week after we left there were bomb blast outside mugal gardens, and some incidents the weeks following. So i can say that its always a chance to take. I have seen many tourist families comming with kids and in groups too. For me the case was like this , My parents have been there around 25 years ago and they wanted to go there again and that time me being in the country was a right occasion. My dad said "lets visit it now; least some part belongs to india, since we never know for how long". It may sound as if we dont trust the indian machinery there, but its not so, its just thats things there are too complicated for us to wait for everything to come to normal.
We did out ticket, Boat house, and car booking from Pune itself. It was a well planned trip arranged for only 3 of us by Gurunath Travels Pune.
