Arati,
iso400 is breeze with new canon cameras. EOS5D is even very good at 1600iso. Nikon isn't that good though with higher iso. 50mm is a very good macro lense. The image on our website (macro section) is made with 50mm. :-)

all the best,

Well, incidently i have a digital canon (A610) but a nikon film (F80).
And the only macro I have is whatever is built into A610, so I guess it is "50mm equivalent" or is it "35 mm equivalent"?

Anyways, I am extremely happy with Powershot A610. quite compact, lots of features, nice macro, good zoom. So me enjoying!

50mm is very good lense, but if extentions are added then we won't get working space. for non moving subject is fine. but i find extremly difficult for shooting insects.

The following malaysian ant climbed up the lense many times while shooting. the ant was very aggresive and i couldn't take much sharp image even after using flash.

sometime I feel I should have gone for atleat 100MM

that is true and is why I got 180mm for the macro-project am working on.

In your image it looks like you have used in-built flash?!

मावळा, अप्रतिम फोटो. हा असा फोटो डिजिटल कॅमेर्‍याने येतो का काढता?

भाग्या, युरोप दर्शन मस्तच.

The Coliseum (Coloseum, Colosseum), was built during the reign of Emperor Vespasiano c. 72 AD and dedicated in 80 AD by his son Titus. The popular name of Coliseum came about because the immense oval stadium was situated next to a colossal statue of Nero. The original name of this ancient Roman sports arena, the largest arena of its kind, is The Amphitheatrum Flavium.

I mostly do landscape images. Not that I haven't done any macro before but this time trying to create a portfolio. Let me know what you think, if you find this good enough to keep. Thanks.

Thanks...all,
In your image it looks like you have used in-built flash?! >> if I add extention my flash ( sb600) can't reach the object the main obstacle is lense I used mirror to reflect the flash.. Now I have created on periscope type non mirror box which can flow the light to object and can put paper..:-) i think ring flash or butterfly flash will be good solution but dun want to invest in this year
BTW nice macro of fly...Never heard of Incident metering,,

Bhagya we will meet soon may be in coming holiday...

Nalini Megha..thanks..I have taken my all images with digital camera D70..

Never heard of Incident metering>>>
Well, an external meter gives you the reading of incident light (so the name, duh!). 95% of time I prefer this method.

You have a powerful flashgun (600), it is very easy to use with any kind of combo you mentioned. why use 'punny' flash which creates harsh shadows?

नलिनी, भाग्य,
इटली दर्शन बद्दल धन्यवाद!
मी बहुतेक नोव्हेंबर मध्ये जर्मनी,इटली मध्ये चक्कर टाकीन..

मावळा,

Nice Macro! great details. Yeah, 180mm Macro gives a good working distance. (especially when you are shooting those posionous spiders!:-)
Hey try renting the Ring flash. See if it works for you before buying it.

Prashant,
nicely captured the colors on the back of the fly..sharp image..good background.. was it possible to get more closeup of it? may be situation didn't allow it.

Paragkan,
flower seems little bit overexposed..
