I am indeed lucky to have so many snaps but I must tell you honestly, 1/5th of them are snapshots so there is no creative value in it, just point and shoot as a memory, been there.. done that.. type of pictures.
About scanning, I have in fact about 20-25 35mm negative rolls which I am planning to scan on Nikon Coolscan 4000 but I am pretty confused about how to scan so once I start on that project, I will write you a line, if its ok.
@Jaaswand - I couldn't think of any better term that creative photography at that moment but all I meant is, something more than point and shoot, something different. I don't want to say that there no creativity in flowers but the thing is how you shoot those flowers, for example, there are few snapshots where its like field of flowers and there were couple where a close-up was shot which captured even tiny dew/rain drops, so in my personal opinion, I will prefer to see more pictures of such close-up type than the field of flowers. As I said, I am not at all a professional photographer but just learning new techniques, so sometimes I apply that little knowledge and sometimes intuition. I DON'T want to say that what I don't like is not worth posting. If the user thinks (s)he has put extra efforts in composing this shot and wants some criticism then you post the picture else why to hog maayboli's bandwidth (unless you are paying), post them on flickr and hog Yahoo's bandwidth instead, right?
Honestly, I used to post my pictures here in a hope that somebody would give me some critique but I hardly got any so I finally stopped posting.
There are so many good (and professional) photographers here from whom we can learn but then in such scenario, flickr type of photography must be discouraged (again my personal opinion)
To give an example, Aarti's picture of this tabla guy, I didn't understand this picture at all but Prashant's comment added couple of cents to my knowledge.
These are just my thoughts...

If asked, I have time, and can contribute then I write something which might help. Of course, one has to keep in mind that there is nothing right or wrong but different. Add a pinch of salt.

मी एक मराठी व्यक्तिमत्व असल्याने कुणाची टिकाटिपण्णी सहसा खपवून घेत नाहि. विशेषत्: दुसर्‍या मराठी माणसाकडून तर नाहिच नाहि.
तेव्हा कुणी मला विचारले, ह्या चित्रात काय आहे तर 'कोळि' हे एकच उत्तर माझ्याकडे आहे ( कोळ्यापलिकडले उत्तर हवे असल्यास 'कोळ्याचे ज़ाळे' )

मित्रांनो,
हा कट्टा, आपण काढलेले फोटो पोस्ट करण्या साठी असुन त्यावर टिपिकल मराठी माणसाप्रमाणे भांडण्यासाठी नव्हे.
या ठिकाणी बरीचशी मायभुमीपासुन दुर असलेली मराठी मंडळी आहे, या फोटोंच्या निमित्ताने त्यांना या मायभुमीच्या आठवणी ताज्या होतात असा माझा तरी अनुभव आहे बाकी गोष्टींशी काही घेणे नाही.
त्या बाबतीत मला आल्हाद्चा stand आवडला.
Any way लोपा कवीतेच्या ओळी खुपच छान आहेत,
आणि खरंच सांगतो,
" शोधीसी मानवा राउळी मंदिरी
नांदतो देव हा... अपुल्या अंतरी..!!! "
हेच शिर्षक माझ्या मनात आले होते.

ह्या BB वर प्रोफेशनल तसेच हौशी फोटोग्राफर्स फोटो टाकू शकतात पण "इथे कलात्मकच फोटो टाकावेत" असे नाही त्यामुळे ज्याला जे फोटो टाकावेसे वाटतील त्याने ते टाकावेत.. दुसर्‍याकडे बोटे दाखवत बसण्यापेक्षा स्वत: कडे जे उच्च फोटो असतील ते टाकावेत.. आपले फोटो कसे उच्च आहेत ते आपोआप कळेलच.. तेवढेच आम्हा हौशी फोटोग्राफर्सचे ज्ञान वाढेल.....
