You can get it attested from Indian consulate. If you are based in Iowa, you can get it done at Chicago.

SAS, please check my comment on your questions elsewhere.

American Notery has no value in India. They are not authorized by the Indian Government. Sometimes, people get Am.No. to sign documents to be submitted to Ame. Consulate which is Okay.

But a Notery here will noterize anything as long as you sign the document in front of them. They do not know, or care what you are using it for.

The indian government does not have any relation/authority of Power on Ame. Notery.

For any governmental document, you have to go to the Indian Consulate( Even if you are American),
