Hi,
I came to U.S 6 months back...Since I am on H4 I am currently not doing any job..but eventually I have devoloped a liking for writing...I want to start working on a novel but dont know the right way to start.I have not done any creative writing course when I was in India...
Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

Great idea. Some suggestions: ideally you should start with short stories and if you like any particular idea, you could develop it from there.
2. You could also try your hand at developing the characters and then fit them in a storyline.
Most important is having a good idea and imagination to develop.

hey Abhi,
Thanks for your suggestions..writing short stories is I think a good start...If you have anything more for me or know about some links I could refer to just let me know....

Sure thing, Poonam. Will let you know if I come across such a site. Basically, I read a ton of books by various authors and try to find their styles. Some are good at character development, some at the plot and some are good with descriptions. Do let me know if you have any suggestions.

Ya sure....Even I am fond of reading....I first used to read sydney sheldon...I was sort of his big fan....But now I am trying some other authers...like philip margolin,carolina garcia-agulera...
