Hi,
dec 2002 madhe mazya aai-baba ncha visitor visa 2 times reject zala. reason given was "tumchi mulgi atttach india la yevun geli ahe tar parat tumhala kashala jayche ahe usa la? it means that u want to settle down there."
now my question is can they apply by post? and what documents should i send to increase the chances of acceptance?

Q. I have been refused a US visa before. Can I re-apply?
If you have been refused a US visa once in the preceding 2 years, you can re-apply for a visa after at least three working days from date of refusal through the Interview process.
If you have been refused a US visa twice in the preceding 2 years, you cannot apply again in person for the next 2 years from date of first
refusal.
If you wish to re-apply within the two-year period, you can send
your application only by ordinary mail to the US Consulate - enclosing a photocopy of your passport, relevant documents, and a persuasive covering letter, justifying why the Consul General should reconsider your case.

just to add on this.. i know a person..who was rejected 7 times and he kept applying by mail and finally 8th times his visa was granted..
i hope your parents are showing documents and proof that they have some bindings back in india like your younger brother / sister who is not yet married so for that they would go back.. they have their parents , inlaws to take care of them at their old age who are dependent on your parents, bank statements of each back showing they have that much money, FD, jewlary in bank and they are keeping that in india so they would come back.. and most important is property papers for all the property they own in india which is a very good reason that they would come back..
generally they refuse visa for people who do not have much commitments in india... and that's why they would immigrate to us as they are not loosing anything in india..

anupama.. i know.. i said generally. there is no valid justification we can give as why they are rejecting visa.. it's purely luck.. mu in laws got rejected when they went for the first time.. then i applier for her first seperately and she got it and they we applied for father in law seperately and he got for 10 years.. everything with same papers and everything same.. so sometimes.. i think they reject first time as they know everybody is going to go second time and that way the get the money twice.. and second time they will approve.. so result .. we had a lot of head ache but they got twice money for visa processing..
so as i said.. it's purely your luck.

thanks a lot for information. pan mostly saglya sites var tyani sangitle ahe ki major change in situation asel tarach parat apply kara otherwise reject honyachech chances jast ahe. I read this on immihelp.com site.
In our case no major change. So I am in dillema shall we waste money,time and get disappointment in return. Lets see, I might ask only my mother to reapply by post in april/may.
anybody of you've applied by post anytime?

friends.. i am planning to invite my parents along with my sisted to usa for visit.. my sister is 20 .. i am planning to apply visa for my parents first and then later for sister .. independantly.. that is my parents will not tell my sister is also going to come ..and so do my sister.. as i am afraid.. if all 3 members of my family apply at the same time, they might get rejected. Even though i am not doing anything illegal, is there any potention problem in this? Is there any chance that when my sister will go, they can know that her parents have alredy applied and got visa etc?
Please help. urgent..i am about to send papers to india.. thanks in advance..

My thought: If sister is unmarried, there is a high probability that her visa may be rejected if she is going to apply on her own.

As long as your sister is applying within few days after your parents have applied, you are safe. But again, chances that unmarried young person will get visa approved is very very low. Alternatively you can ask her to come through Kesari Tours or similar. The rour for USA is normally for a month or so. It will cost you about $2500 to $4000. After she lands in US, you can request for extension of her visa.

Mazya mitracha experience:
1. aai , baba, ani bhau (MBBS just complete zalela, no job, unmarried) he tighe ekatra interview la gele. Saglaya prashnanchi imandarine uttare dili. Kesari travels che brochure barobar nele hote. Tyanchya plan pramane ek mahina kesari travel tharfe firnar hote , dusra mahina mitrakade. Sagale khare khare sangitale.Tighana 10 varshacha visa milala.
2. Ajun eka mitracha anubhav. aai , baba ani bhau gele hote. Bhavala visa nahi dila , aai vadilana dila. Thodkyat bhau/bahin reject zali mhanje aai baba sudha reject hotat ase nahi.
Tar asha anubhavi mitrashi aatach bolalo. To mhanato ki tighani ekatra gele ani imaandarit sangitale ki 2 mahine US firnayacha plan aahe (with supporting documents of property job etc in India) + kesri chya travel schedule cha support ghetala (get their brochure and time table) tar visa milanyache chances changale ahet.
Bottomline : Bilakul kahi lapavu naka, apalyala te jamat nahi, karan apan marathi ahot, gujju nahi ;-) (just kidding)
Samir, tuzya plan pramane jar vadil ani bahin aadhi geli tar ha prashn nakkich vicharala jail ki aai ka jaat nahi ahe. tyache tumhi je uttar dyaal te tumhala kitihi samarpak vaatat asale tari tya officer la vatale pahije ani 1% jari tyala doubt vatala tari problem hou shakto. Reason behind this is , baba ani bahin jaat ahet ani aai jaat nahi asha cases faar kami asatat.
If ur parents say , daughter's exam got ovewr ,we have 2 months vacation and hence we would like to spend it by visiting son for 2 months and seeing places in US. This seems very logical and reasonable.
Anyways, think about it.

I agree with Prafull, in that it is best to be honest. My experience goes back in 1998, so not sure how much indicative it is of today's procedures.

Regarding Kesari tours, yes you can extend their tour. For that matter you can take break in tour, spend some time where you want and continue on next tour from that point onwards if they have vaccancy.
Essentially they will ask you to buy open ticket so you can return at your convinience.
Check up consulate site for drop box eligibility.

If the visa is denied recently, I think you cannot apply for 2 years. But please confirm, I am not sure.

tari pan reject jhala tar 2 yrs same category madhe visa apply karta yet nahi.
drop box ekada ikade yeun gelelya lokansathi aahe aasa waTata.
