only advantage is peace of mind about job situations. tumhala legally kuni ja mhanun sangu shakat nahi. you are also eligible for some meager "bekari bhatta" if you are out of job.
baki kahi positive points,

i heard we have to wait for 180 days that is 180 days from date of receipt of 485 or from the date of 485 application? aani EAD aalyavar job change jaraycha mhanaje nusata dusarya employer la join karaycha ka kahi leagal formalities aahet ? existing GC cha processing tasachchaloo rahata ka kahi change karave lagatat? junya company cha lawyer sagala neet karato ka ? any problems in this?

hi,
does anyone know how seriouly a "birth certifice" issued by the local muncipalty in India is required for applying for a green card ?
My date of birth got changed inadvertently by 2 days. Now the munciple authority can give me certificate only with the original date. However, all my other documents (passport, visa, J1, Ph.D. certificate, SSC certificate) have the false date.
Any experience ?

Palas: I believe this should answer your question. I believe you do not have a choice but to make an affidavit in court in India which might be able to resolve your issue.

Most municiple offices in India claim this (your birthdate does not match our records) when you ask for the birth Certificate... A simple way to extract money. (I had this experience thrice.. in Mumbai, Kudal and Vengurle).
Sworn affidavit is the only choice.

Suyog: Check this out. I believe as long as its not more than a year you can still travel to US with your GC but at the time entry at the port, you will have to convince/prove that your intention was never to abandon GC. So expect more thorough questioning at the port of entry in immigration.
