H1B Visa revalidation experience..
I had sent my passport alongwith necessary documents to INS St. Louis office in July. I had also sent a money order of $120 ($45 visa fees and $75 reciprocity fees). My application got temporarily rejected under clause 221(g). It looks like they have increased the visa fees from $45 to $65. I had checked the INS website just before getting the money order and I am pretty much sure that the fee was $45 that time. Now I have to re-apply with new DS-156 and DS-157 and pending $20. This time I have to send the application to Washington and not St. Louis.
Does anyone know when the visa fees were increased by $20?? And had anybody experienced something like this with INS (Rejection due to increase in fees after you send the application)??

Natya: You should not have any problem. When I was enquiring with one of my friend about duration he told me it took 2.5 months for him (Feb) at the same time he mentioned his friends case like you, he applied in april with 45 $ and application came back for additional money, but after sending back to washington it just took 8-15 days for him. The reason for him to tell me this was his friends stamping came faster than his!!

Also please note if your visa is not current you require Transit visa for Frankfurt Airport if travelling by Lufthansa Airlines, even if you are travelling to India.

UK madhe stopover asel tar transit visa lagat nahi ase aikale aahe. My in-laws had stopover at Frankfort and I visited German Counsulate office at Atlanta. But their USA Visitor Visa was valid at the time of journey. So, there was no need for Transit Visa. Consulate gave a Letter stating that.

My application for H1B visa-renewal / revalidation was temporarily rejected due to insufficient fees. I had sent my application with additional fees to Washington. I got it back in 7 working days. In last 2-3 months I have heard lot of cases wherein applications were rejected since INS increased the visa fees from $45 to $65. But everyone got it stamped in 8-15 days on re-application.

Temp. rejection khali fee parat bharavi lagat nahi.
Anyway don't do any blunders like me they are watching closely.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
Recent Updates on H1 & F1 stampings known from friends:
1. F1 updates -
Out of 10 students going to stamp F1 at the consulate 9 are rejected for some silly reasons. If they show enough finance for education then the reason for rejection is you have enough money to settle and wont come back, if you dont show enough finance the reason given is you as it is dont have enough finance to survive.....
2. H1 Stamping (extension for 3 more yrs etc)
People going to consulate are having many problems getting H1 extensions even though they are valid employees of US based companies. Economic resession and high rate of Unemployment is the big factor that consulates are rejecting visas on the basis of enough skilled based unemployed worker already present in US
Please beware of these facts before taking "RISK" of going to india and getting H1 extensions stamped.
More information is welcomed if anybody has experienced such situations.....

Boli: usual timing is 2 months paN when i did it last yr during May-Aug it took 4 months so I would assume it to be 4 months on a safer side.

This seems to be too long re Yogibear.
Our HR told, that it takes less than a month... so we made plans to travel.
This is bad :-( these people are taking more and more time, for extension, then for stamping.
