majhya mate Indian embassy madhye tabadtob kalavave lagate. . ithe tari asech aahe. majha mitra indian embassy madhye jaun aala. tyala dusara temporary passport dila aahe tyanee. aani once they confirm the misplace with respective indian passport office, they will issue a new passport from here.

My 2 cents - My mom had flown AlItalia last year(Bombay-Milan-Boston(Logan)). The flight is good except that the halt in Milan is 8 hrs, can get pretty boring esp if you're by yourself. But luckily she found some other lady going the same way.... if its for young people AlItalia is quite good, but for older people, parents etc, you should check first for convenience. Plus there isn't a big fare difference betn Alitalia, BA or Luftansa... it cost approx 5 - 7 K less on AlItalia, that's all.

I guess most of the flights have 6-8 hrs. halt. I have same experience of Lufthansa and KLM Northwest.

That's true SVS.. my point that for people like you and me, it really doesn't matter whether we fly BA, Luftansa, KLM, Swiss or AlItalia... but for older people, in my opinion, BA is the best, since the halt is only about 3 hrs (assuming normal conds.) ... flghts like Aerofloat, GulfAir etc are even more tiresome since they have 2 halts.... if it comes to cost then Gulf, Aerofloat give a very good deal, but for convenience I think BA is the best (since all other Euro flights are more or less same fared). Air-India, I dunno, never flown from US.

i do not know how it is from east coast on BA. But if you are flying from SFO to Bombay on BA, the halt is almost 23 hrs. SFO -London reaches at arounf 10.15 am and london-bombay leaves at 10.20! so you have to stay overnight. Bom- sfo has only 3 hrs halt.

oh! wow! that's good... who's ur travel agt ??? :-) If that's case, then Alitalia looks like a good deal... coz I've heard food etc is pretty good (at least they give u Asian Vegetarian if you have requested for one)

BA and Lufthansa have option of 3 hours halts. My friend came via alitalia and he was not that happy with that experience. He is jain and he had trouble with pure vegeterian food.
