I agree with Nirakar... Though it takes some time to attain the acme of perfection; Indian offices really work fast these days. Apart from the living standards and lifestyle, India is no less than an organized country. It may take some more time in rural places/suburbs, but the metros and some good Municipal corporations (Look at PCMC) have remarkably progressed in past 5 years. You can easily get the thing which u want conveniently if you know where to get it. I could get things done in a very short time when i was in India than what i had expected. People who go abroad unknowingly get biased about these aspects. Things have drastically changed positively and it is bound to continue. It all depends on the person's perspective...to be or not to be? Though life in India is not so easy, it is also not that tough...and that is how life should be!

Generally indian companies prefer for 'in person' interview. Most used option is to go back and start looking for a job through local newspapers/magazines/contacts and apply accordingly. After going back to india since in the initial few months salary/money is not the concern people prefer to use that time as vacation/relaxing time. On an average, within 3-6 months you should be able to get a decent job if you have decent prior experience in US except your field of work in US is in a niche market which essentially does not exist or practicallly working methodologies are different, then it might be difficult to get appropriate job.

My experience : It is 6 months old thing but might help someone. I had been interviewed by Wipro, Banglore for Project Lead position in Wipro Web Secure team at banglore. It was a series of telephonic interviews from India while i was there in LA. I had been offered that position with decent salary and relocation from US to India. That time i had Intel project offer in hand and was not prepared to move back. But i guess, if you have appropriate industry experience with the skills and background that companies need, there are some companies, who are willing to interview you while you are here and relocate you back to India. I heard I2 as well as Infosys also follows the same practise for the well-matched candidates they need. Felt it might help someone, so thought to share.
